The Russian human rights organization, Memorial, hopes the Justice Ministry will withdraw a lawsuit it has filed with the Supreme Court to close the human rights center, Interfax reported on Thursday.

Alexander Potkin (a.k.a Alexander Belov, b. 1976), former leader of the Russian nationalist Movement Against Illegal Immigration, has been arrested in the case of the $5 billion embezzlement at the Kazakh bank BTA, Kommersant newspaper reported on Thursday, citing sources at the Russian Interior Ministry.
